1st Annual HAE-NYC /HBSAA-NY -Startup Showcase

Here is your opportunity to be a part of the first HAE-HBSAA* Startup Showcase.

Applicants have greatly exceeded our expectations - we have well over 100 brilliant start ups vying for one of six spots to pitch on the 17th! Each finalist will get to pitch for 5 mins, followed by 5 mins of Q&A.

This is your chance to hear the best of what Harvard Entrepreneurs have to offer, to test your investing skills & have a say in which startup will have the opportunity to pitch to Harvard Alumni Angels at their next investors meeting.

  • All attendees will be invited to download an app (link given at registration) and given $10K Crimson Cash to invest between your favorite startups (or given all to one you really love - your choice!). Winners are determined by the most cash invested from the audience!

For questions, please contact Kirstin Broderick, HAE-NYC at kirstin@north-scale.com, or Jim Sherman, HBSAA, at jsherman@amberventures.tech.

About our moderators: Jim Sherman (HBSAA-NY) and Kirstin Broderick (HAE-NYC)

Jim is a serial Internet entrepreneur, angel/seed stage investor, and author.  He founded and exited three companies -- WestEnd New Media in the late 90s focused on providing Internet strategy advice to media firms; ShermansTravel Media (2002 to present), a leading publisher of hand-picked travel deals, and  Hamptons Lane, an e-commerce venture targeting foodies. He has deep experience in digital media, advertising & marketing, and e-commerce. His former corporate roles include strategy consulting (Bain & Co.) and publishing (Time Inc.; Pearson; Martha Stewart Living).  He loves travel, the theater, and international politics.

Kirstin is a serial social entrepreneur, most recently the founder of NorthScale, a mental resilience & performance coaching firm. She has a Masters in Strategic Management & Economic Development (Harvard) and is a licensed therapist (LMSW, Fordham), but her most important training is her 20+ years as a Zen Buddhist. She has worked with organizations from The World Bank, fast-growing tech companies, VC firms, and even a vegan food truck. She completed her first intensive meditation training in rural Japan in 1998, and received Jukai–or Zen Ordination–in 2012, and was given the dharma name Daikatsu, translated as Great Liveliness, or Big Life.
