Join HAE Denver to taste wines from and hear the story of Broadbent Selections, a wine importer supported by entrepreneur Rod Rougelot, HBS '89.

Bartholomew Broadbent, founder of Broadbent Selections, is renowned in the wine industry for his knowledge of, and passion for, Port. He established Premium Port Wines in 1986 and re-launched Madeira in the United States in 1989. He founded Broadbent Selections in 1996, with Rod Rougelot as an advisory board member.

Twice nominated for the Best Importer award by Wine Enthusiast, Broadbent Selections is ranked #10 in the Hot Wine Brands of 2026 by Bonfort’s Wine & Spirits Journal, a trusted reference for wine and spirits founded in 1871.

The event features a tasting of 5 distinctive wines. Bartholomew and Rod will also talk about their entrepreneurial journey and answer participant’s questions.

Wines tasted will be available for purchase after the event.

Bartholomew Broadbent

Bartholomew, founder of Broadbent Selections, is renowned in the wine industry for his knowledge of, and passion for, Port. He established Premium Port Wines in 1986 and re-launched Madeira in the United States in 1989. He founded Broadbent Selections in 1996, with Rod Rougelot as an advisory board member. .

Rod Rougelot

Rod, HBS '89 has extensive experience in recycling, operations, finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Upon graduating from HBS, he founded Recycling Resource LLC, which rapidly became one of the leading recycling competitors in California. He has been CEO of Itec Environmental Group, a leading plastics recycler. He also has extensive experience in the beverage category, serving as a strategic consultant for The Coca Cola Company and on the board of Broadbent Selections.
